Clean Eating Magazine Giveaway!

Can you say "YUM"?!? The burger on the cover of this month's Clean Eating magazine is unreal.

I realize I am biased because this magazine (as well as the others by RKP) are my life these days, but I have to tell you this funny story about how much I L-O-V-E this cover...

I was at a grocery store in North Bay, Ontario on Saturday morning taking a stop over for groceries on my way up to Temagami, and I was struck by the drool-worthy deliciousness of this burger. And this was at 8am after having been on the road since 5am. Yikes!

I am so proud of this issue a) because of a ton of great recipes b) because I have a fun new spread in the mag and c) because this cover rocks!

In fact, I am so proud of it I want to giveaway 5 issues of the magazine to a winner selected at random who leaves a comment about how they aim to bring their weight-loss or maintenance to the next level.

Come on ladies & gents - share, share, share!

And come back tomorrow to find out who the winners are.

  3. I am working on the food area to take my health/fitness to the next level. I am elimanating the processed foods in my house as they run out and replacing them with clean foods. I am also making sure I eat at home or bring food with me so I am not tempted to eat fast food.

  4. I am bringing my weight loss to the next level by being honest with myself and NOT beating myself up when something goes wrong. I will not give up on myself I can do this!

  5. I've been eating clean and using your cook books. they give me yummy ideas and it keeps me eating clean even when i have a sweet tooth. i have a great weight training program but i struggle with getting my butt to the gym. after a long day of working outside i'm pretty tired. so my goal is to drag my butt to the gym because even if i do a good 20 minute circuit its better than nothing. plus a good workout always boosts my energy level.

  6. I've been eating clean and lifting weights for the past two weeks! I'm using everything I learned from your books to turn any food favorite into a eat clean approved meal! Healthy and delicious! I'm down 3.8 pounds in the first two weeks :) To keep moving forward I'm increasing my weights and continually eating cleaner and cleaner!

  9. I'm not trying to lose weight, but I want to focus on eating clean 95% of the time (rather than the 80-85% of the time I'm doing now) to improve my energy levels even more and to take my body to the next level for marathon training (4.5 weeks to go!!)

    ReplyDelete
  10. I eat clean but my exercise has taken a back seat as my business grows and I tend to everyone's needs (except my own). I need to remember to put myself first and get to the gym several times a week.

  11. I recently transitioned to eating clean and LOVE it! I'm taking my weight loss to the next level by intensifying my strength training- moving beyond the "girly" machines and joining the guys in the free weights room! First time was this morning and whoa....I felt like a rockstar!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I have been eating clean and pumping iron for 6 months now. :) best thing is that now my hubby is joining me!

  13. Clean eating and fitness boot camp, but clean eating takes priority! Small protein + carb/fat every 3 hours has been giving me back control of my life!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Now that clean eating has become so integral to my life, I am working harder to be sure that I experiment with new clean foods, so there is never any excuse tonog eat clean. I'm also striving to bring clean eating to others!

  15. I am bringing my weight loss to the next level by reading the ingredients of the foods I purchase. I try to make sure the ingredient list is as short as possible and includes things I know are healthy.

  18. I plan on getting serious about my weight training! I've just been haphazardly using the weight machines, but I'm working on forming a detailed workout for each day...and following through with it!!

  19. After finally getting back to exercise after foot surgery 3 months ago and no running since last November due to the pain leading me to get surgery, I'm finally ready to ramp up my exercise and get back to running. A month before my pain I ran my first half marathon, and my goal is run another ASAP!

  20. After turning 50, I realize there are a lot of things i cannot control. One thing for certain is, the cleaner I eat, the better I feel. I plan on adding lots of greens to my diet---"miracle grow" for the body. This year is all about me, eating well and aging backwards.

  21. Ok, too funny that you posted this because just YESTERDAY I messaged a FB friend to ask her if I should try this mag after I read about it on her blog!

This summer I've finished up a health challenge with friends: lost 10lbs, drank 10c water daily, started exercising and now running 25k/week, signed up for a 1/2 marathon in Toronto on my birthday, started mountain biking and LOVING it, added hemp and protein powder to my diet (thanks to Tosca and Rachel...) and changed my sleep cycle so I'm up by 4:30 to exercise in the morning with friends.

Next up is to do more lifting! And my fav: I'm seeing Tosca in September at an event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. I became motivated to hire a personal trainer, clean out my cupboards and fridge and have been for the last few days clean eating. I have been using the eat clean diet books as a guide and devouring everything you have posted on FB and here as motivation to keep going.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Consistency is key for me. Which is why I have started keeping an exercise and food journal. This way I can hold myself accountable.

    ReplyDelete
  24. More walking, more exercising using hand and body weight (I'm on week 4 of Oxygen's 6 weeks to Push Up Perfection plan!) - more strictness in clean eating! School starts again for me on the 13th, which means long hours in front of the computer - so I have to be prepared with clean meals in the fridge and freezer and a plan to move my body throughout the day!

  25. My husband was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. When we met with the Dietician I was struck by the similarities between the diabetic diet suggestions and the eat clean diet. By taking my diet and exercise efforts to the next level and eating clean, I am supporting him and also modeling a healthy lifestyle for our 7 year old daughter.

  26. I started eating clean 3 weeks ago in hopes of losing the 10 pounds of extra weight that snuck up on me during the winter and move to another province in the summer. I am aiming to keep my fridge stocked full of great stuff like edamame dip, hummus, boiled eggs, fresh fruit and sliced up veggies. I think the key to clean eating is the organization aspect! It makes me feel super awesome when I'm on top of it and taking care of myself and my family in this way! Thanks for your unending inspiration, Tosca! I only wish I'd discovered you earlier!

  27. I have been in an eating slump for way too long. And this lifestyle has crossed my path too many times to continue to ignore it. It's time...
Thank you for the inspiration through your magazine, your books, and your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah!! I would love this! I'm a huge clean eating fan and I'm always looking for new inspiration and ideas. I just finished all three of Tosca's clean eating books and I got so much inspiration and ideas from all of them!

I've been so inspired by this movement, that I've entered my first bikini competition at the ripe o'l age of 42. Age is just a number, and I feel (and look) better than ever, based on the improvements I've made in my diet.

Thanks Tosca, for being my rock star super hero!

  29. I am taking my weight loss to the next level by applying the eating clean methods to prepare for a figure competition in October! I can't wait!

  31. I'm taking my clean eating to the next level aiming to compete early next year! I love that clean eating extends into comp prep and while I'll be on basic foods it can still be full of flavour. Clean eating magazine has always been a treat to myself to find new ways to nourish and cherish my body!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Cleaner eating + more exercising (particularly cardio, my nemesis) should = increased weight loss...

    That's the plan, anyways...

    ReplyDelete
  33. May 31st was my last rendezvous with the "white evils" of sugar and white flour. With Tosca's inspiration, in the form of three of her books that I read back to back, I have made some serious dietary triumphs in addition to the weight and cardio training that have long been staples in my life (I find it much easier to stick to an exercise routine than to a clean eating regiment!) Things are going well in the eating department (got my breakfast oatmeal cooking under a plate as I type this!) but I would love to try Clean Eating magazine for some further inspiration. Thank you, Tosca, for all you do to make this world a healthier place!

  34. I am taking my ECD lifestyle to the next level by committing to work out at least 5 days a week with a variation of strength training and cardio. Since starting this plan an month ago, I just focused on the eating part and now I am ready to go full throttle! Thank you for changing how I look at food and teaching me how to treat and fuel my body!!

  35. I started eating clean almost a year ago, off and on, as I progressed in my new fit life style. Over the course of the year I learned so much more about myself and about my body then I thought was possible. Eating Clean has changed both my outside and inside. For the past 6 months, I have started to take my eating clean and fitness to a new level. I want to push past my comfort zone and take my body and mind to a place they have never been. The clean eating magazine sure would make that easier and provide me with new ways to enjoy my food on my journey! Pick me Tosca, Pick me!!!

  36. Clean Eating (your books and the magazine) kick-started my new way of living. After learning I was also celiac and had a severe dairy intolerance I was pleased to see that CE is so versatile that going gluten and dairy free is totally feasible. I can continue on this wonderful plan with some adjustments to support my dietary needs.

Taking things to the next level ~ I want to train as a dancer. I'm 36 so that's a big deal. It's been a lifelong dream, so as soon as I get my weight to a healthy level I'm going for it!

  40. My two year old so just asked me why I was exercising. "So I can be strong" was my answer. Eating clean is the other part of the equation. Clean Eating + Exercise = strong, healthy mama.

  53. I am just getting started on my journey (again, of course) to finally becoming healthy. I am currently reading your book and it's definitely been an inspiration to me. I used to be a very good athlete and played so many sports and right now, I just want to get back in shape and feel healthy again. I am hoping to be able to start this journey by learning to eat clean and healthy, once and for all.

  54. I am eating clean-ish. I am working on ignoring my stress and doing physical activity instead of the 'go to food' from my past. I have 3 of your cookbooks and really took them to heart this past May long weekend and I've lost 12 pounds so far. I'm also moving to a community that encourages physical activity. Therefore I've removed some of my previous excuses. I understand today is the day, the only day I've got and I'm making them count.

I am aiming to keep increasing my weights and keep up all of my hard work! :)

We try to buy freshe veggies, honey from our local farmers market and grow as much veggies as we can in our small garden. We take the dog for walks several times a day, go bike riding and I have volunteered at our local Y

  60. Over the last two years I have lost 40 lbs eating clean and lifting weights. I'm pretty happy with where I am but would love to lose 5 more lbs. Taking eating clean to the next level for me is trying to convince everyone I know to do it. I tell everyone if you just give it a week you will feel the changes in your body. My kids even enjoy eating clean which makes this mom very proud. I would love to try out your magazine and hopefully talk my husband into letting me order another magazine :o) Love you Tosca.

I've (for the most part) kicked junk/fake food to the curb and become significantly more active; the thing now seems to be continued and increased vigilance on the food front to make sure that I'm eating for the right (non-emotional) reasons by decreasing portion size and increasing meal frequency. 30lbs down, 50lbs to go. :)

While the exercise part comes easily...the clean eating part doesn't always so I have turned to Clean Eating to help me to get that part of my life under control...in addition I have ramped up the cardio and I am in the gym now about five (5) days a week...Thanks Tosca and RKP...you both have inspired me to be the best that I can be as I approach 47.

  71. I am taking it to the next level by training for my first sub 2 hour half marathon! I've ran 2 halfs before but more for fun. This time around, I am running for time and have trained extremely hard these last 7 weeks (3 more weeks until the race!). Also, I've incorporated more plant based protein in my diet and cut back on the red meat!

  72. Thinking about how food is fuel and how much better I'd feel if I consistently eat what man didn't make...but nature did! It can't be a short-term fix, but a lifelong commitment to eating better to make yourself feel it's best. An occasional "cheat" is fine as long as it's occasional!

  73. I have been eating clean for several months now and loving it. Maria, who you did a feature on not to long ago, is my coach and has been pushing my weight loss and clean eating to the next level. By cooking clean and simple foods at home and less eating out, working out more often and adding family walks i have been able to drop my first 15 pounds. I have even started my own facebook page to help hold myself more accountable to clean eating and my weight loss journey.

I started with your first cookbook and have cooked my way through and back to being healthy. I have made clean eating a life style and not just a diet. It is simply a way of life for me now. I have now lost 34 pounds, lost 13% body fat, 45 total inches over entire body, and 4 dress sizes. I'm still going strong with hard work in the gym, strict clean eating, and motivation. Here's to an amazing long life!

I need to eat more often too as I tend to skip meals.
Oh and need to learn that clean eating is the tastiest eating!! :))

  93. I took it to the next level 8 weeks ago by doing what I call "simple it up" in my life and adapting the following rules:
*I set a specific goal of what I wanted to accomplish, and look like, in 12 weeks. Another goal will follow for sure.:)
*I started weight lifting and working with a personal trainer....the BEST thing I have ever done to push myself.
*When I put something in my mouth I ask the question....Is this nourishing my body or harming it?

  96. I love the Clean Eating lifestyle. I'll admit that I'm in transition and there are some habits that are taking more effort than others to overcome, but overall, I feel free for the first time. I have to say, too, that my family has been very supportive of my efforts to transform the family eating style and have given almost all the recipes I've tried two thumbs up. Keep up the great work!

  98. I've been eating clean for the past year and I love it. I went from very low carb eating (low carb but high fat) to clean eating and I'm amazed at all of the different foods I get to eat (and how much I consume in a day!) I feel so fit and healthy and am in the best shape of my life (at 38 years old!) Now I just want to work on my "treat meals"... and make them a little more clean as well!

My eating however hasn't been as clean as it should (summer means ice cream:*. While I'm not really over weight, I do have a bit of extra weight in the belly. I am going to start focusing on cleaning up my and my family's diets to really see an improvement in my stomach. And as my husband needs to lose weight as well to help with a bad back and sciatica, it will benefit him as well.

  110. Almost 9 months ago I was given a stack of my sisters old oxygen magazines, since having my second daughter and wanting to get back to the gym... I learned that eating is the most important thing I could do to help lose the weight. I had never imagined all that I would learn once I bought and read two eating clean diet books! I'm confident with my choices for my family, fueling ourselves with the right food to live healthy active lives. I would love to have an opportunity to learn more with the rating clean magazine and maybe help me to show others(via coffe table and passing along to others) what eating clean is and how amazing it is!

  111. I just made your delicious Carribbean chicken last night for dinner, along with a quinoa salad that was nothing but CLEAN ingredients! I'm teaching my boyfriend all about eating clean and getting our two butts outdoors - rollerblading and trail hiking all in one day this past Sunday! And no more chocolate snack bar at the office - I have Ryvita at my desk and Finncrisps (I'm Finn, what can I say) and make my own hummus dips which I like to jazz up with curry one day and home-roasted garlic the next.

  112. It's unfortunate to say that bringing my weight loss to the next level is actually by starting over. In 2009, I lost 55 pounds and since then have gotten married for the 2nd time and put my family's needs before my own and regained not only the 55 pounds but another 15 on top of that. I plan to start by decreasing my diet soda to only 1 a week, incorporate more fruits and veggies and get active 5-6 days a week. Once I get started with those few things, the rest of the clean eating and maintaining an active lifestyle will fall in place. Love your books and magazine columns!

  114. I'm excited to think I am on the last phase of getting healthy. I started my journey in 2009 by going to Weight Watchers and I lost 30lbs. I maintained my weight for a year and decided it was time to start working out. I did spin and boot camp classes but fell off the wagon at Christmas. Slowly the weight started to creep back on. My friend and I joined CrossFit in April and it has really opened my eyes to what I should be doing, physically and nutrition-wise. I cut out soda completely and I bought your book Eat Clean Recharged last week! I am excited to start fueling my body instead of eating junk food. I'm scared to cut out sugar (I love my coffee in the morning!) but I know it will be worth it in the long run.

  115. I've been training for a half marathon with minimal weights and am looking forward to the change of pace.

He also improved his eating habits so I can say he's on the right path. My plan is to extend this healthy lifestyle to my two daughters (14 and 6). Because, to be honest they eat pretty healthy, but not the way I want. So my goal is to be a good influence for my girls that way they can adopt a healthy lifestyle and not suffer in their future all the problems I had in the past.

  138. Hi Tosca, I am a newbie to your eating clean diet. I found your book at the library and have started taking some notes about how to proceed with living clean. I will be joining a gym that has just recently opened near by and I am so ready to shed all this weight and feel better. I need to lose about70 pounds, so I have a long journey ahead. I am ready to go and stick to it. I stopped smoking over a year ago, and now my weight is my only obstacle left to conquer. I don't want to just lose, but I want a completely new and healthy lifestyle. This diet will definately suit my needs. Wish me luck!!! Melissa Woulfe

  140. I've always exercised and eaten fairly healthfully, but at this shy of 45 years old, I find myself in perimenopause and needing to revamp some things. I'm taking it to the next level by increasing the length of my workouts and cleaning up my diet even further. I've struck added sugars and have increased my veggie and protein intake. It's making all the difference in the world with my perimeno symptoms.

  142. I love clean eating magazine as well as you eat clean diet books. They've helped me personally get on the right track as well as given me great resources to give my personal training clients. Right now, as we head back into the school year, I'm looking at ways to simplify my clean eating and cooking. For example, I will be pre-cooking my proteins and grains on Sundays for the entire week, including lunch packing so that we don't have an excuse to grab unhealthy food. In addition, I will be using my brand new Tupperware microsteamer to save time by steaming my veggies in the microwave. I'm super excited and ready to go! Thanks for the motivation!

  143. Hi Tosca, I've lost and maintained over an 80 pound weight loss since 2008. I purchased your first book and have followed the principles of clean eating to obtain this goal. Maintaining is harder than losing. Your body fatigues from exercise and I tend to eat a lot of the same foods because I know "they work" to keep my weight stable. Although I've maintained this lifestyle it's still a struggle. My new goals right now are to change my exercise regime, trying new types of exercise as well I really need to add variety to my diet. Thanks for making exercise and eating healthy easier with all your books, recipes and knowledge. As a registered nurse in a busy hospital I continue to be as healthy and clean as I can and I know my patients and colleges look up to me for this. I never want to be on the receiving end of medications to maintain my life, I believe nutrition becomes us :)

  144. Hi Tosca,

I think the best thing anyone can do, and what I'm doing, is keeping a food journal to watch where I can make improvements. It's a good way to keep on track and manage the amount of nutrients I need, and weed out those calories I don't.

  145. I pack my meals and snacks so I have healthy choices to choose from at work to keep me on track. I also lift weights 4 to 5 days a week and have incorporated sprints several days a week at the gym. It also helps to have healthy recipes from the magazines and books when making my shopping list, it takes out the guess work. Thank you for all of your helpful tips and info!

  146. I'm taking it to the next level by taking my loved ones with me! For the last year my mother has been fighting an aggressive breast cancer. We would spend the long hours of her chemo treatments thumbing through Clean Eating magazine and choosing recipes we'd make when she was better and got her appetite back. Now that she's feeling more like herself I'm holding her to it, teaching her more and more about the Clean Eating principles that I learned from Tosca's books, sharing meal plans, recipes and local produce when we find it. The result is going to be a healthier mother-daughter duo!

  152. My husband and I have made a commitment to be the best role models we can be for our three young boys. We joined a family gym and only eat clean. The boys are growing up knowing the value in leading a healthy and active life and the best part about it is that we are all doing it together. I have to admit that once I bought the first CE magazine (over a year ago now) I preach to everyone that will listen that CE is the way to live. We are more balanced, have more energy and generally get less sick by maintaining this lifestyle!! Thanks for all of your help in this journey!!

  159. I don't have any great life changing inspiring story to tell as I have been blessed with a great mum who brought me up to enjoy veggies but together have improved over the years in many ways but my challenge is influencing my husband who was raised on a typical British diet & not very clean as stodgy. It's hard to maintain when he wants to eat creamy sauces & pasta bakes but getting there! That's my next step, hubby on clean eating without realising he is actually clean eating ;-) So many helpful alternatives on this site. Shame UK don't have this magazine. Missing out!

  161. I have always been excellent at working out- I love it. I often use beachbody programs, which have really started emphasizing clean eating. I came across the blog of a beachbody coach who was successful from clean eating and working out. It just all started to make sense after reading some of her recipes and meal plans. I borrowed "The Clean-Eating Diet- Recharged" from the library and have been noticing a shift in my thinking (and desire) for food. After a life of struggling with my weight and trying every crazy fad diet without a lot of success, my plan is to enjoy real food, the way it is meant to be eaten- simply and naturally. I don't really see this as a diet, but more of a shift in how I buy and use foods. I'm so excited to see the results after this new change combined with this new round of exercise. Best of all, I can teach my 1-year-old daughter these healthy habits. She already loves veggies- imagine that!

  162. My husband and I have been clean eating for 3 weeks now, and the difference in how we feel is amazing by just getting rid of processed foods! He is diabetic and his sugar levels are controlled and his insulin requirements have dropped, his doctor will be so proud! We have each lost nearly 6 lbs in the process and feel so energized! Its been much easier being on vacation, but back to work tomorrow will be a challenge, especially for my husband who works shift work. We have our workouts written out in books, so we know exactly what we are doing each day and can track it, making it simple for us. Last week I reorganized the home gym and our 3 teenage boys have been also using it on a regular basis! Next step, preparing our lunches for the week on Sunday...which I just finished! Next weekend is my 42nd birthday and my husbands 41st birthday...we are celebrating with that amazing burger from my newly acquired clean eating magazine! Following your site has given us motivation to feel healthier and live life to the fullest...thank you thank you THANK YOU!!
