Gives Day 4: Give a Helping Hand

Is there a person in your life who needs a helping hand? Today's GIVE is all about lending an extra hand so you can feel good and enrich the life of another during this holiday season often wrought with materialism.

Whether it's a close friend, a family member, or an elderly person in your life - offer to help them out with something. For example, lend them a little of your energy by helping them with their holiday shopping list. Don't forget to treat them to lunch or a coffee break.

Stay tuned for tomorrow's tip for making Monday morning a little brighter!

  1. My ex-husband needs a little more receiving, of late. So I help out when and where I can. He's having a hard time having to make some hard decisions about an aging parent along with the day to day issues of being a parent of our teenage kids. :)

  2. Today I helped a coworker with a job duty that I know she really doesn't like much. It doesn't bother me to do it and it made her day a bit brighter to have someone take it off her shoulders.

  3. I have a friend who gives ' service' to her parents for Christmas each year. during the year they perform service for a family or families in need and at Christmastime they write about it in a letter and give it to her folks. Several years they have built wheelchair ramps for people's homes. I find this to be a wonderfully thoughtful idea in the middle of a hectic season.

  4. ON THIS DAY I helped my sons school by donating a ton of my children's old toys and books. The donation will be used in a huge toy sale with the proceeds going towards his school.
