Theresa's Got ABS!

Today's guest blogger is Miss Theresa Jenn. She's a wonderful success story featured in Oxygen's latest special Abs! that hits stands today. Be one of the first 3 people to comment below so you can win a copy of Abs! just in time for summer. We'll be giving away 3 copies. Check back tomorrow in the comments section to see if you are a winner.
I always knew I wanted to be fit but I struggled with how to get there. When I read my first issue of Oxygen magazine, I felt reassured that maybe I too could make a transformation to a healthier lifestyle. I followed Oxygen’s tips and soon I started to see a difference in myself. But this all came to a stop once I let the stress of my final year of university consume me. I went to food for emotional comfort and before I knew it I gained almost 40lbs. Shortly after, I started reading The Eat-Clean Diet, which expanded my taste buds to tofu, quinoa, and beets. My boyfriend (now fiancĂ©) helped me incorporate the principles of Eating Clean in addition to going for daily jogs and learning how to lift weights. Over the year I was able to lose the weight and in exchange I gained some confidence back.

In an effort to find another physical challenge, I discovered CrossFit. After an intensive year of training, I noticed my body fat % decreased and my strength increased. All of the sudden a thought I had for 8 years of competing in a fitness modeling competition started to seem like a realistic goal. This is when I found the missing piece to my puzzle, my coach, WBFF Pro Fatima Leite Kusch. For 5 months, I followed my coach’s FitnessPrint plan and training program and went on the faith that she believed in me.

In September 2011, I competed and won my very first competition. My dream continued as I was featured in the February 2012 Future of Fitness in Oxygen magazine! Now here I am in the Abs! Special and sharing My Success Story on Tosca Reno's blog! Dreams do come true.

  6. I started "attempting" to eat clean since mid January, but it hasn't been easy to stop eating my Mexican food!! I am constantly trying to find ways of making the food I love in a cleaner version of it!! Nevertheless, the changes I have made so far have made a HUGE difference!! I will continue to change my eating habits until I am 100% eating clean!! Thank you Tosca for changing my life and that of my family!!!

  9. This is just great! Your story is so inspiring. I'm dealing with emotional eating issues right now, as I prepare for competition, where I want to have a six pack for the first time in my life, but not if I go off my plan. Just reading this blog gives me hope that I CAN DO IT, ans strength to stay out of the kitchen. I'm 6 weeks out, and instead of eating off-plan, I read this blog, and I feel much better now. Congratulations on being the guest blogger for Tosca Reno!
