The Circle of Life

All day we have been by Bob's side as he begins to make his crossing. The outpouring of love from the legions of people who have been touched by this magnificent man is much like a tidal wave, filling our space and Bob's with love and admiration. It bathes us, lifts us and carries us. I am stunned by how powerful this is not just for Bob but for us, those who will march onwards. My Blackberry is bursting with messages. My email is jamming up and I can't read them fast enough.

Our king-sized bed in our bedroom is now filled with our family. We take turns holding his hands, stroking his beard, giving him sips of water and telling stories. There is a great need to tell all apparently just in case we have forgotten to share something important with Bob. We come and go in groups holding each others' hands, too. Already the gifts Bob is leaving us with are becoming apparent. One of the biggest is to be a family and to stay strong together. Yes Bob, we will do that for you.

Who knows what the night or tomorrow will bring, but we all love you Robert Kennedy. I love you.

  16. My heart aches to know this pain you all feel. About 5 years ago I found the Oxygen magazine and it changed my life..I read every single one and Bob's thoughts. I never sent him a letter thanking him for his amazing words and inspiration from each magazine I got..I was depressed and it honestly changed my whole way of life.
God is looking out for you and your family. You are loved so much for what you have done for so many..Thank you Robert Kennedy from the bottom of my heart.my prayers are with you.

To Live in this world you must be able to do three things...
    To love what is mortal;
    to hold it agaisnt your bones knowing your own life depends on it;
And, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.

  36. AN ANGEL NEVER DIES
    Don’t let them say I wasn’t born
    That something stopped my heart
I felt each tender squeeze you gave,
I’ve loved you from the start
    Although my body cant hold.
It doesn’t mean I am gone,
This world was worthy, not, of me,
God chose that I move on
I know the pain that drowns your soul,
What you are forced to face,
You have my word, I’ll fill you arms,
    Someday we will embrace,
You’ll hear that it was “meant to be,
    God doesn’t make mistakes”,
But that wont soften your worst blow,
Or make your heart not ache,
I’m watching over all you ,
Believe me when I say to you,
    That I am always there
    There’ll come a time, I promise you,
When you will hold my hand,
Stroke my face and kiss my lips,
    And then you’ll understand
Although I’ve never breathed your air,
    Or gazed into your eyes,
That doesn’t mean I never “was”
    An angel never dies….
    Love you

  57. Dearest Bob and Tosca!! Tosca, you are a RARE GEM and you are a strong, breath taking angel of a woman in every way. I want to express to both of you that I believe Robert Kennedy is a wonderful soul and has been a great addition to this world of health and wellness, as you well know. You both have been and continue to be a HUGE inspiration in my life!! That will always be! Also, I love that Arnold, my other inspiration, came to be a his side at Easter to be there in this delicate time. What two beautiful souls you and Robert possess to be such wonderful support to the world and to each other. I am wishing you all the greatest GRACE and peace of mind right now during this challenging time of changes. Such is life to loose what we cherish most. I am now reminded of what the great Bruce Lee said, "I don't know what is the meaning of death, but I am not afraid to die - and I go on, non-stop, going forward. Even though I, Bruce Lee, may die someday without fulfilling all of my ambitions, I will have no regrets. I did what I wanted to do, and what I have done, I've done with sincerity and to the best of my ability. You can't expect much more from life." Also, Tosca and Robert, he said "To change with change is the changeless state." As our lives constantly change, Robert Kennedy will never be forgotten! Holding his hand from Kansas, Jen, Wichita.

  61. THinking of you all during this very tough time in your life. So hard to let go of those you love. My father passed away from lung cancer a few years ago and it just pulled at my heart. I finally got the courage to tell him it was ok to move on....i think he so wanted to hear that. He had so much waiting for him on the other side ....my mom for starters whom he loved dearly and never got over her death to breast cancer........also several of his siblings. Although we were left here without him i knew and he knew we would all be ok...but still and will always be a void in my life. Blessed thought to you, stay strong, embraced these mometns.

  89. Tosca,

A friend once told me something about death that I have carried with me closely as it comforts me in times of fear. I'd like to share it with you....

When a person joins the world, there is much rejoicing in the addition of a new life, a new soul. But on the spiritual side, there is grief and sadness as they have experienced the loss of one of their own. So is the cycle completed in earthly death, when we grieve the loss of our friend but it too is complemented by the joy of his reunion with those who have grieved long on the other side.

Right now, Heaven is preparing for his arrival with love, joy and anticipation beyond our comprehension and what Bob will rediscover when he arrives, is the pleasure that in that world, he is allowed the full vision and memories of both. His soul will arrive nourished with your love and he will always be watching out for you as he patiently awaits your return to the other side. :)

  103. As has been said, thank you for offering us all a view of this time in your lives. Although difficult, this process will, in the end, be cathartic for you, and for us as well. In time you will all be able to reflect on the amazing gifts you have shared with each other, and Bob will be there. For each of us it is only a short step from here to there. It is good to have given so much, to so many. We thank you. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Be at peace.

  105. My heart goes out to your entire family! I am so saddened by these events. I am such a huge fan of Bob. At the Can-Fit Pro show last year, I had the pleasure of meeting "Tough Love Bob" personally and we have a great picture together! I will truly miss your 'tough love', your creative spirit and what you have done for the fitness industry - I feel you have made it accessible to us and I'm so greatful! Fitness and clean eating have helped me deal with my personal health issues and I am a better person because of you, your magazines, books and inspiration. May God bless all of you and give you strength. Joanna

  116. Dear Tosca and Bob; Yesterday I popped into Muscle Mag store in Miss. and bought "The Eat Clean Diet" for a client of mine who has decided to adopt fitness into her life ! It's a gift I give alot of clients and friends. I met you in Oshawa last year at book signing and told you to "Tell Bob I love him" =) and his "Tough Love" Bob attitude. He helped change my life and I became a personal trainer because of the influence Oxygen has had on my life. The people that come into your life are there for a reason, whether short or long. The love and memories last, don't ever forget that. Love to you both, Carole Anne

  125. A Life Lived That Matters...

"For each of us, it will one day come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will be passed to someone else.
Your fame, your wealth and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or owed.
Your grudges, frustrations and jealousy will finally disappear.
So too your hopes, ambitions, plans and to do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It will not matter where you came from, or what side of the tracks you lived.
At the end it won't matter if you are beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.
    So what will matter?
How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought but what you built.
Not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is that every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that empowered enriched or encouraged others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew but how many will feel a lasting loss when you are gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memories that live in those that learned to love from you.
A life lived that matters is not of circumstance, but of choice."

    Bob's life matter's.

My heart is aching for you Tosca and the whole family. We are mourning with you. We love you Tosca.
