Hot Topics Pt I
During yesterday's Facebook chat we burned up the boards with lots of questions and answers. Don't have time to read the entire chat? Here are 3 of the hottest topics grains, belly fat & SEX... I will share another 3 tomorrow:
Do we eat them? Am I intolerant? How much? There were lots of grains questions. The main thing to remember about grains is that it is best to limit them if we're trying to lose. In cooler 2 I suggest 4 servings of starchy carbohydrates - this includes potatoes, bananas, winter squash and grains. This means you won't be having too many grains at all. Stick to quinoa, millet and amaranth. But if they don't work for you then leave them out altogether. This is especially true if you are intolerant.
We can't really spot treat things like belly fat, but eating a clean is definitely your best bet. On top of that you can add apple cider vinegar before each meal. Remember it is 80% diet, 10% exercise, and 10% genetics. Add in cardio and weight training. You don't even necessarily need to do ab exercises if you are lifting properly and using core strength, but certainly reverse crunches, plank and hanging leg raises don't hurt!
Yes, we definitely talked about sex! And how great it can be when you are eating a clean diet. I always encourage everyone to try the broccoli challenges. Both you and your partner eat broccoli each day for 1 week. Then see how things go on the weekend. It's also important to get good fats. Good fats mean good hormones, which means good sex!
