Garden Love

Hello everyone,

I just returned from my garden trek down the hill, around the corner and into the picket fence enclosure that is my vegetable patch.  The irrigation system which is hooked up to my pond deposits precious water onto the exploding garden.  The drought here has been extreme so I am grateful for this precious supply that is finally up and running again.  When I looked over the fence I see nothing but brown patches everywhere...

Out of the corner of my eye I spotted my first tomatoes ripening in the sun along with blueberries and red currants.  I am so excited to see the fruits of my labor coming to reality.  For lunch I picked some lovely cucumbers, the first tomatoes, some lettuce and carrots.  I had these with some salmon - the perfect Eat Clean hot weather lunch.

My mom is here visiting in advance of her birthday.  She will be turning 76 this year and is ever the fire cracker.  The rest of this week will be all about preparing Clean Eats for the entire family who will be visiting, too.  There will be 20 of us altogether and it should be so much fun.

But I really need your help.  What sort of fun things would you recommend we can do with our gang?  I don't just want to sit and eat.

Send me your suggestions.

Love and health,
Tosca

  1. For dinner fun you can put names of famous people or characters on note cards and tape or pin them to everyone's back. Everyone has to guess what their own person is. Also, you can play croquet, ladder ball, etc. before/after dinner. Make stepping stones for your garden together. Make a memorabilia video with a few interview questions everyone can answer. Put the video together for a holiday gift come winter.

  2. I saw a really fun thing the other day called Super Twister. You spray paint the twister dots on your lawn to accommodate however many people are playing. It can be as big as you want, and with this size no one has an excuse to sit on the sidelines :)
