Coach Catolino gets real with my latest meal plan critiques. I sent her my 3 food journals (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) and her response is in red. Let's hope this isn't another Cleanorexia moment :)
What?! No more Wine!!! :( |
In this heat everyone needs to up their water intake! Follow Coach Catolino's advice |
I am glad she is your accountability partner...we all need one in times like these and stressful moments...which is where I eat terribly!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...it gives me incentive to eat properly!
I'm praying for you Tosca!
I love that you, a fitness model and Clean Eating advocate needs the input from someone else to keep your nutritional needs in check! Thanks for being real!
ReplyDeleteI love this. Thanks for sharing. Great insight and great coaching! Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tosca for sharing coach Rita's critiques. Really good information!
ReplyDeleteWendy
Thank you for sharing, Tosca! I love Coach Rita's notes. :) Keep it up! You ladies are awesome. Love, Lauren
ReplyDeleteGosh, I love reading this. When I competed, my eating was what many would call "cleanorexic". I think yours is very balanced and I love the red wine lol Thanks for posting this and being so honest Tosca. Keep going :)
ReplyDeleteLove the insight. Great post.
ReplyDeleteBummer on the wine! I recently was watching Dr Oz and Dr. Andrew Weil was on and he said that soy products are ok, as long as they aren't processed like soy crumbles for beef substitute. I do understand the soy/estrogen connection though. And not criticizing here .. just passing on some info that I recently heard.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool!! I would so love to have someone be honest with my meal plan like this...pick it apart goods and bads with ideas to help with the bads.
ReplyDeleteSo...no tofu? I have also heard the estrogen thing but, not sure how to get other protein that is a good sub for chicken (not a fish eater) that doesn't also add too many carbs (i.e. beans have carbs too, right?)
thanks.
Wow.. haha all I could think as I was reading this is, if Rita can find things in your diet as constructive criticism, she'd have a field day with mine!!!
ReplyDeleteBUT reading this makes me want to try harder tomorrow to make up for the less than ideal day I've had so far in terms of diet :)
I don't like eating lots of tofu either but don't know where else to get protein except for beans that also have carbs. I know that eating a well balanced planted based diet provides lots of protein from veggies, fruits and nuts but I am still confused on the whole protein thing. :(
ReplyDeleteYour food looks great. Glad you have someone to keep you accountable. Especially someone that knows what they are talking about. :)
(((Tosca)))
ReplyDeleteFood plan looks great and I dare anyone to attack your eating! ;p
Sad news about the red wine but good news to avoid tofu (it's ucky!!!) LOL!
Stay amazing ~*~
Absolutely, absolutely love this! Accountability partners in crime ROCK!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I'm a follower! This is the real stuff. It's things like this that really make people like myself believe that fitness goals are achievable.
ReplyDeleteI'm going through peri-menopause and investigating natural methods to manage my symptoms. One of the items I've been using is a sprouted, non-gmo, super-firm Tofu by Wildwood to boost my estrogren levels. I like the super-firm texture - it reminds me of feta cheese. I like to cut it up raw and use it in many of my salads as it takes on the flavors of any Clean dressings I might use, and in Tosca's Eggless Egg Salad recipe (Vegetarian Cookbook).
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with others' comments re the eye-opening effect of Coach's comments.
DeleteI totally agree on the avoid tofu thing with regard to the estrogen connection. Esp applicable for those with thyroid issues also. Yep, lose the tofu, people.
Bummer on the wine...I too love that 1-2 glasses of Fridays-only red wine. Hated giving that up when I was prepping.
Thanks for sharing with us on this level. So helpful. Go Tosca.
Where can I get some "real" info on eating tofu/soy or not. Same for Dairy. I have so many people swear that soy and milk will kill me, while others swear by them. I personally am a fan of low-fat dairy products as well as tofu!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
These are fantastic, I love to hear that other people in the fitness industry likes and needs outside motivation as well. So excited to read over your notes and these corrections help me to dial it in myself. Again Thank you.. for sharing your journey.
ReplyDeleteWhat is HBE?
ReplyDeleteI would love to know how many calories this works out to be per day. or is that not that important?
ReplyDeleteWill you show anymore food journals?
