Resolution Check In with Jill Holland
With the month of January drawing to a close it's time to check in on those New Year's Resolutions you promised yourself. To help us with our check in Eat-Clean Ambassador, Jill Holland. She's a fit force to be reckoned with and an amazing proponent of the Eat Clean way of life.
Take it away Jill...
Keeping your New Year Happy!
Ah yes, the New Year. Something magical happens at midnight, where we instantly become superheros…..right after that last bite of chocolate or pint of beer at 11:59pm. We are invincible, perfect, an image of superhealth-to-be, and ready to tackle the world. On January 1 (well, maybe January 2 – uh oh), we spring out of bed, and head to the gym for the instant that the doors are unlocked to get that muscle pounding workout in, and then commit ourselves to a one-food-wonder diet. Oh dear.
Did you see what I just saw? Motivation. “What?!”, you ask? Yes, under all the unrealistic goals we set on ourselves, there was that spark. It’s there and that’s what starts the fire. Here’s the top ways to keep that spark and build on that fire:
• Define your goals. Write it out – I have a motivation board that holds photos, phrases, quotes and goals. It’s the first thing I see in the morning, and the last thing I see at night.
• Keep it clean – enjoy whole natural foods and remove the temptations from the pantry. I am vegetarian/pescatarian, so my fridge is pretty full! Pantry?….not so much.
• Be perfectly imperfect –Some choices are just better than others. When the chocolate finds your lunch, forgive and move on. Ask yourself how it will help in your goals, and it should resolve itself.
• Find your support - For me it’s family, my personal trainer, friends and FaceBook. There’s also The Kitchen Table and Twitter, and my Eat Clean Recharged book is still my trusty go to.
Believe in yourself – I believe in you! Happy New YOU!
