Hot Hot Heat

It's a scorcher here in Ontario today. Wow! Bring on the heat wave.

I'm actually tucked away inside in my office today trying to stay cool while I work on lots of different projects. Check out the pic to the left. These are some photos for an upcoming project, but I can't tell you what it is yet!

I chose to do my run nice and early this morning to avoid overheating. I've been doing a morning run, a late evening run, or hitting the treadmill so I don't get sick.I'll be drinking lots of water, too. How do you stay cool during these hot summer days?

There is only 1 week until school starts here in Ontario. My one daughter is preparing to head back to university after a stint at home all summer. Everywhere I look there is a mess of giant containers holding her clothes, shoes, books, etc. She is my pack-rat child who can't part with anything!

Okay, back to work I go. Stay cool if you're affected by the heat wave, otherwise, enjoy your last few days of summer.

  1. I'm an aquatics pro by trade, so water is always top of my list for keeping cool - on vacay right now so i'm doing short weight training sets on the dock and taking several swims each day - lovely!

  2. It's not easy staying cool in a 3rd floor walk-up with no a/c! It's a scorcher here too. My son and I often head to the gym, where he stays cool in the playroom and I can squeeze in a workout... so even though I'm working up a sweat, it's a good kind of heat!

  3. I manage to get my exercise in on the hot days by walking late at night with a bunch of friends. If it is too brutal out I just do a good workout tape at home

  5. Oooh, new cookbook :)

It is pretty chilly here in BC so I'm not having too much of an issue staying cool. Staying warm... my 6:00am run was in 9 degrees and rain. Brrr.... but I did it!!

  6. A new cookbook would be great!!

Can't stay cool here in Virginia, when is this weather going to let up?

It's especially hard walking out of the gym when you're all hot and sweaty into the scorching heat.
Hubby and I go in the evening, but it's still hot. Ugh!

    It's all good!
